- 1). Open the iTunes program on your computer.
- 2). Remove the cap from the bottom of the iPod Shuffle, and plug the iPod Shuffle into your computer's USB port. The iTunes program will automatically detect your device, and will display it underneath the Devices section in the iTunes source list.
- 3). Click the "Music" tab in the iTunes source list, and drag and drop music from your iTunes library to the iPod Shuffle icon underneath the Devices section to add music to the device. Alternatively, autofill your iPod Shuffle by clicking the iPod Shuffle in the source list and checking the box next to the playlist you wish to add to your device.
- 4). Click the last button in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window to eject the iPod Shuffle from your computer.
- 1). Plug the shuffle dock cable into the computer's USB port, place the second-generation iPod Shuffle onto the shuffle dock to connect it to the computer, and slide the power button on the iPod Shuffle to "On."
- 2). Open the iTunes program on your computer, and click the iPod Shuffle icon in the iTunes source list. Click the "Contents" tab in the main window of iTunes, and check the box next to the playlist you wish to add to your device. Click "Apply" to sync the music to your iPod Shuffle. Alternatively, drag and drop music from your iTunes library to the iPod Shuffle icon to manually add it to the device.
- 3). Click the "Eject" icon in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window to disconnect the device.
- 1). Plug the iPod cable into the USB port on your computer and plug the other end of the cable into the headphone port on your iPod Shuffle.
- 2). Open the iTunes program on your computer, and click the iPod Shuffle icon in the source list. Click "Music" in the main section of iTunes.
- 3). Select the box next to "Sync Music," and click the "Apply" button to transfer music from your iTunes library to the iPod Shuffle. Alternatively, manually add music to your iPod Shuffle by clicking the "Summary" tab in the main window, checking the box next to "Manually manage music," and clicking "Apply." Drag and drop music from your library to the iPod Shuffle's icon in the source list to manually add it.
- 4). Click "Controls" at the top of the iTunes window and click "Eject iPod" to disconnect it from your computer.
