- 1). Locate your RCA audio/video outputs on your MiniDV camcorder; these will be yellow, red and white round holes. Insert a set of ends from your RCA audio/video wires into these ports. Make sure you watch the color coding.
- 2). Insert the other set of ends from your audio/video wires into the video inputs on your DVD recorder. These will match the ones on your camcorder.
- 3). Put your camcorder in the "Play" mode. This will vary based on your camcorder model, but it's the same mode you use to review you tape on your camcorder's screen or through its viewfinder.
- 4). Insert a blank DVD into your DVD recorder. Tune your DVD recorder to the appropriate video mode to receive a signal from your camcorder. Likely the name of the video mode will be on a label printed near the ports where you inserted the wires. How to do this will vary wildly by make and model, however this will usually be done using your DVD recorder's remote control, pressing a button like "Video Inputs" or "Source." Check your recorder's manual if you are having problems.
- 5). Start playing your MiniDV tape at the same time you press record on your DVD recorder. Press "Stop" on your DVD recorder when your video is complete.
- 6). Finalize your DVD. Finalization will allow your DVD to be played on any regular DVD player. How this is done varies based on make and model of your DVD recorder. However, generally the function can be found on your main setup menu of your recorder. Check your DVD recorder's manual for more information on finalization.
