  The HP Pavilion Tx1000 is a versatile notebook with features that many home users will find appealing. Standard options on this notebook include a 1.3 megapixel Webcam, a 5-in-1 digital media reader, and even a mini-remote control for watching movies, providing many entertainment possibilities. • The HP Pavilion Tx1000 is equipped with a 2.5-inch hard drive, with a capacity ranging from 60 gigabytes (GB) to 160 GB. The smallest of these drives can easily store hundreds of photos and songs. These hard drives spin at 5,400 RPM.

• RAM memory allows a computer to run multiple processes simultaneously; the more memory, the better. The Tx1000 uses PC2-5300 RAM operating at a speed of 667 MHz. Lower-end models come with 512 MB of memory installed, while pricier models can include up to 2 GB of memory, which is the maximum for the Tx1000.

• This Pavilion laptop has an AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile central processing unit that runs at 2.0 GHz and contains a 1 MB of level 2 cache.

• The Tx100 features a 12.1-inch WXGA wide-screen monitor that supports Brightview technology. The monitor is high-definition, allowing for a sharper video quality, and can support resolutions of up to 1,280 by 800.

• The Pavilion Tx1000 supports a variety of connections. With a 56k V.92 data fax and modem, it can connect to the Internet via a dial-up telephone line, or the 10/100/1000 Ethernet port can connect to a broadband network through an Ethernet cable. Optical Drive

• The Lightscribe Super Multi 8x DVD/RW allows multimedia content to be stored on optical discs. The Lightscribe capability allows for labeling of CDs and DVDs with text and images of the user's choosing. Music, video and any other type of data can be backed up conveniently using this optical drive.
