- 1). Turn on the printer.
- 2). Open the output tray on the front of the printer and lift the top cover. When you lift the top cover, the print heads will automatically move to an accessible position.
- 3). Lift the print head carrier cover to expose the print heads. Each print head has a color label on it so you know which one is which.
- 4). Locate the print head that you want to replace and press the tabs on it to release it. Lift it out of the print head carrier.
- 5). Shake the replacement print head while it's in the package to loosen the ink and then unpack it. Don't remove the labels on it.
- 6). Insert the print head into the vacant slot in the carrier. The print head will snap into place if it's done properly.
- 7). Close the top cover.
- 8). Charge the print head by pressing the "Ink" button (has an image of an ink droplet on it). Wait for the "Ink" button and the power button on the printer to stop blinking and the printer will be ready for use.
