- 1). Measure the width and length of your existing pillowcase. Add 1-inch seam allowance to the width and 3 inches to the length. Or measure the length and width of the pillow and add 2 1/2 inches to each measurement.
- 2). Cut two rectangular pieces of fabric to the necessary dimensions.
- 3). Lay the material on a flat surface so that the longer sides of the rectangle are horizontal and the wrong side of the material is facing up.
- 4). Fold the left edge over 1 inch twice. Crease or press the material. Sew a straight line across the interior side of the folded section to create a neat hemmed opening.
- 5). Repeat Step 4 for the second rectangle.
- 6). Stack the fabric one on top of the other. Place the right side of the material facing in and the hems lined up.
- 7). Sew along the three unhemmed sides 1/2 inch from the edge.
- 8). Serge or sew a tight zigzag stitch right against the raw edges to keep the material from fraying.
- 9). Turn the pillowcase right side out to wash and dry it. Check the water temperature and drying requirements for the material before proceeding.

Mix 1 tbsp. unflavored vodka, 1 1/2 teaspoons scented oil and 1/2 cup water in a spray bottle. This recipe makes a basic linen spray. Shake vigorously. - 11
Spritz the clean case with the mixture two to three times. - 12
Hang the pillowcase until it is completely dry before use.
