- 1). Make a call on Skype. If you don't have any available friends you can talk with, call the Skype Test Call server at "echo123."
- 2). Click "Call" on the top menu in the Skype application window, then click "Call Technical Info." A new dialog window appears displaying technical details about your call.
- 3). Look for "Packet Loss" in the technical details. This shows the percentage of data that has been lost in the data transfer. If your "Send Packet Loss" value is greater than 5 percent, issues with your Internet connection are causing the poor call quality.
