- 1). Turn on the electronic device (a TV, VCR, etc.) that you will be using with the Philips Magnavox remote.
- 2). Hold down the "Code Search" button located on the remote until the red light on the remote turns on and remains on. This will take about 5 to 7 seconds. Release the button after the light stays on.
- 3). Press the button on the Philips Magnavox remote for the device (TV, VCR, etc.) that you turned on in the first step.
- 4). Press "Channel Up" on the Philips Magnavox remote repeatedly until the channel on the electronic device changes. You may have to press the button 300 times before finding the right code.
- 5). Press "Mute" on the remote immediately after the channel changes on the device. The code will be installed on the remote. You should then test the Philips Magnavox remote to make sure the remote does control that device. Repeat steps two through five if the remote doesn't control the device in order to successfully program that remote.
