- 1). Place the cable converter box next to the VCR so that the back of the cable box is facing you. You should see two ports: "Cable In" (or "In" or similar wording) and "Cable Out" (or "Output" or similar wording).
- 2). Turn the VCR around so the back of the VCR is facing you. You should see two ports: "Antenna In" (or similar wording) and "To TV" (or similar wording).
- 3). Plug one end of a coaxial cable into the "Cable In" port on the back of the cable converter box. Tighten the connection with your fingers.
- 4). Plug the other end of the coaxial cable into the cable television outlet located on the wall in the room or area you are in. Tighten the connection with your fingers.
- 5). Plug one end of another coaxial cable into the "Cable Out" port on the back of the cable converter box. Tighten the connection with your fingers.
- 6). Plug the other end of the coaxial cable into the VCR's "Antenna In" port. Tighten the connection with your fingers.
If there is a TV antenna connected to the VCR, unscrew the antenna's coaxial cable connection from the VCR and place the antenna to the side. - 7). Check to see if the VCR is connected to the television---you will see a coaxial cable plugged into the "To TV" port.
If the VCR is not connected to the TV, plug one end of a coaxial cable into the VCR's "To TV" port. Plug the other end of the coaxial cable into the port on the back of the television labeled "Antenna In." - 8). Turn the VCR around so the controls are facing you. Turn the cable converter box around so the display is facing you.
- 9). Plug the cable converter box's power cable into an electrical outlet.

Turn on the television and VCR. Set the VCR's channel to channel 3 or channel 4---whichever one your television is set on. - 11
Turn on the cable converter box. You will see a message from the cable converter box displaying the manufacturer of the cable converter box and the screen behind this message may be blue or another color. If you don't see a message or different colored screen, check the connections and check which channel your VCR is set on---you may have to change the VCR channel to channel 3 or 4. - 12
Wait until the cable converter box completes it "booting" function (this may take a few minutes). The cable converter box is loading information from the cable service provider. - 13
Use the cable converter box's remote control to change the channels, select extra features and programming.
