- 1). Click the start menu button and type "gpedit.msc" into the search box. Hit "Enter." The "Logical Group Policy" editor will open, giving you access to computer configuration and user configuration.
- 2). Double-click "User Configuration" in the right-hand "Local Computer Policy" window.
- 3). Select which user policy to view and/or change under "User Configuration": Software Settings, Windows Settings and Administrative Templates.
- 4). Edit the policy settings under each "User Configuration" subheading. If, for example, you decide to edit the "Security Settings" under "Windows Settings," you will need to double-click a specific "Public Key Policy," make changes to that policy and then click "Apply" to save your changes.
