  One type of copper wire or mesh craft is purely decorative, in the form of art pieces. While ranging from high-end museum installations to backyard garden decorations, copper art's main function is to be admired and appreciated visually. Art forms that lend themselves to working well with copper include wire sculptures of people or animals, mobiles, stake-type decor for outdoor use, and wire wrapping of other objects.

  Probably the most common and prolific type of copper wire and mesh crafting is in the form of jewelry. The possibilities here are almost endless. A wide array of twisted, looped, pulled and soldered pieces are possible in rings, bracelets, anklets, necklaces and earrings. Copper mesh and wire head circlets or tiaras also fall into this adornment category.

  Another craft type that utilizes copper wire and mesh is that of functional objects. Envelopes and bowls made of mesh can be fashioned quite easily. Wire can be worked into usable shapes, including pencil holders, baskets and rain chains. The beauty of functional copper objects is the added bonus of using and handling something that doubles as a work of art.
