- 1). Turn off the Compaq Armada M300 notebook. Press the power button to turn it back on and wait for the Compaq logo to show up on the screen.
- 2). Press "F10" to access the M300's built-in operating system (BIOS). Tap the right-arrow key to access the "Advanced" tab.
- 3). Tap the down-arrow key until the "Boot Order" option is highlighted. Press "Enter" and then scroll down to the entry for the device you want to boot from, such as "Optical Drive," "USB Device" or "Network Adapter."
- 4). Press "Enter" again to specify the selected entry as the primary boot device. Press "Enter" once more to exit the "Boot Order" options screen.
- 5). Insert the boot disc into the appropriate drive on the Compaq M300 notebook. Hit "F10" to save the new boot order and restart the M300.
- 6). Tap any of the M300's keys when the "Press any key..." message appears on the notebook's screen. Follow the onscreen instructions to load the operating system from the boot disc.
