- 1). Tear off a 1-foot-long piece of aluminum foil. The width of the foil will vary depending on the container holding it.
- 2). Fold the aluminum foil in half the long way. Then fold it the other way, twice if possible. Make sure that the folded foil is longer than the length of the scissors.
- 3). Hold the aluminum foil lengthwise. Open the scissors and place the foil inside so that the bottom of the foil makes contact with the middle of the scissors. Start at the right or left side of the foil, about a quarter inch from either end of the foil.
- 4). Make one full cut into the foil with the scissors. Move the scissors a quarter inch to the right or left (depending on where you started) and make another cut. Continue cutting through the foil until you run out.
- 5). Test the scissors on a piece of paper. Repeat the process as needed.
