- 1). Right-click in an empty spot on your desktop and select "New Folder" from the breakout menu.
- 2). Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB sync cable. If iTunes tries to open automatically, close the program.
- 3). Go to your start button, and select the "Control Panel." Select "Appearance and Personalization," and then click "Folder Options." Select the "View" tab, and click "Show Hidden Files and Folders" under Advanced. Then click "OK."
- 4). Chose the "My Computer" folder from your Vista start menu. Then double-click on the drive representing your iPod.
- 5). Double-click on the "iPod Control" folder.
- 6). Double-click on the "Music" folder inside the iPod Control folder. Inside the Music folder are additional folders that represent each of your playlists. Inside each folder are songs that you have assigned to that playlist.
- 7). Select the "Edit" menu at the top of the folder, and then choose "Select All." Hold the "Ctrl+C" keys simultaneously to copy all the folders inside the Music folder.
Alternately, right-click on each folder or song, select "Copy." - 8). Go back to your desktop. Double-click the new folder you created in step 1. Right-click inside the folder and select "Paste." All your music will be copied to your computer.
