- 1). Remove all dirt, dust and debris from your mahogany floor. Sweep thoroughly before wet cleaning. If necessary use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove dirt, dust and debris from beneath furniture and other hard-to-reach places. Use a dust mop daily to remove fine particles and prevent them from dulling the finish on your floor.
- 2). Mix 1 qt. of warm water and 1 qt. of undiluted vinegar in a mop bucket. Submerge your mop in the solution and swish it around to mix the two ingredients. Wring your mop out, so it is moist but not saturated.
- 3). Mop your mahogany wood floor in small sections. Submerge and wring out your mop as needed. Wipe excess moisture from each section with a soft cloth.
- 4). Moisten a soft cloth with olive oil. Polish your mahogany floor in a circular motion with the cloth. Allow the olive oil to set for about 30 minutes, then wipe up the excess olive oil and dry the floor to a shine with a dry, lint-free cloth.
