- 1). Lay a sheet of paper on a flat surface and with the ruler on the paper, draw two lines connecting at an upward point, as in an upside-down "V."
- 2). Start from the downward point on the right and draw a line diagonally crossing the line on the left of the upside-down "V."
- 3). Connect to the diagonal point, draw a line straight across the first set of lines, and continue to the right.
- 4). Start from the last point in step 3, draw a line downward to the left, and connect it with the open point. Trace over the outer lines of the star and erase the inner lines to see the shape of the five-sided star.

Lay a sheet of paper on a flat surface, place the ruler on the paper and draw a straight line across the paper. Start at the open points and draw a diagonal line down on each side, connect the lines and form what appears as an upside-down triangle. - 2). Turn your upside-down triangle so it looks right side up and draw a straight line across the middle of the paper. Start at the open points and draw a diagonal line down each side and connect the lines at a point to form an upside-down triangle on top of the first triangle.
- 3). Trace the outer lines of the image to see the six-sided star.
