- 1). First you need to have a Genuine version of Windows XP in order to download this software. If you have a genuine version then go to the link I provided below. This link will take you directly to the Microsoft Windows Download Center site.
- 2). When you get to the Microsoft Windows Download Center, click on the "Continue" button on the screen to validate your version of XP. Once you do this, you will be prompted to download the software. Go ahead and download the software to your desktop.
- 3). Once the software downloads to your desktop, install it. This will update your image viewer to allow you to actually view RAW files from DSLR cameras. Works great with Nikon and Cannon.
- 4). Restart your computer to complete the install and update your Windows XP program.
- 5). Now simply insert your memory card from your DSLR camera into your camera or tether your DSLR camera to your computer and you can browse the images on your camera or card just like you normally would browse JPEGS or TIFF files.
- 6). TIP: When you view your file, you can save the image that you are viewing as a JPEG right out of the viewer if you want to quickly send it to someone or edit it without the hassle of converting it to a TIFF or JPEG. If you want to use a great RAW file converter - click the other link in this article to go to my article about RAW file conversion.
