- 1). Find a well-ventilated area. Paint remover puts off strong fumes, and can make you ill if you breath in too much. Try to find a place outdoors. If the Plexiglas is a permanent indoor fixture, open windows.
- 2). Spread newspaper over the work area. If the Plexiglas is a fixture such as a door, place newspaper directly under it. Paint remover will remove the finish off of floors, so it is important to put down a few layers.
- 3). Spray the painted area with remover. If the Plexiglas is in an upright position, use semi-liquid paste. Allow the paint remover to sit on the paint for 20 minutes.
- 4). Use the plastic scraper to gently remove the paint. If it still seems stuck on, do not force it. Reapply the paint remover and let it sit another 20 minutes.
- 5). Spray a folded paper towel with glass cleaner. Wipe the area clean. If any paint remains, repeat the process in Steps 3 and 4.
