- 1). Carry the oil art outside on a sunny day. The brighter the sun, the better job it will do of killing and drying out the mold.
- 2). Bring the oil art back inside after several hours or until the wet mold is dry.
- 3). Remove the dried-up mold with a brush. Make sure the bristles are soft so you don't tear the canvas.
- 4). Add water to a glass bowl and pour in several drops of bleach to dilute it. You can also use an already diluted commercial bleach product.
- 5). Dip a 100-percent cotton cloth into the diluted bleach. Wring it out so it's only slightly damp.
- 6). Blot the oil art on both sides where the mold is located.
- 7). Put the oil art back outside to let it dry.
