- 1). Tether the secondary router to your computer. To do so, plug an Ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports located on the back of the router. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port of your computer.
- 2). Launch a web browser and clear out the default web address. Enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar. Load the page and then enter, "admin" into the username filed and leave the password field blank. Press "Enter" on the keyboard to load the router settings.
- 3). Click on the "Basic Setup" tab and locate the local IP address for the router. Change the IP address to 192.168.0.2.
- 4). Locate the radio buttons for " Local DHCP Server" and click on "Disabled." Click on "Save Settings" to update the router.
- 5). Remove the Ethernet cable from the computer and the router.
- 6). Connect an Ethernet cable into the "Internet" port of your modem, and then plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the WAN port of the main Linksys router. Do not use the modem that you completed settings changes on.
- 7). Plug an Ethernet cable into the WAN port labeled "1," located on the back of the main router. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into the LAN port located on the back of the secondary router.
