- 1). Connect the camera to the computer through the IEEE 1394 port via the FireWire cable that came with the camera. FireWire cables can purchased at most electronics retailers.
- 2). Set the camera to play recorded video by pressing the "VTR"/"VCR" button.
- 3). Start Windows Movie Maker. Click on the "Start" menu, navigate to "All Programs" and select "Windows Movie Maker."
- 4). Click "File" in the main menu and select "Import from Digital Video Camera."
- 5). Type a name for the imported video in the "Name" textbox. Click the "Browse" button to choose a location to save the video. Select "High Definition Video Device Format (MPEG)" in the "Format" list and click the "Next" button.
- 6). Click "Import the entire videotape to my computer" and click "Next." The camera will rewind the videotape and the entire contents of the videotape will be imported to your computer as an MPEG-2 video file.
- 7). Click the "Finish" button when it has finished importing. The imported video will appear in the Movie Maker.
