- 1). Measure around your head with a tape measure from just behind the hairline on top of your head, around to the top of the back of your neck and back to the top of your head. Measure and cut a piece of elastic to this length.
- 2). Bring the ends of the elastic together overlapping them by 1 inch. Sew the overlapping ends together with two parallel zig-zag stitch seams sewn and 1/8 of an inch from each end of the elastic.
- 3). Measure and cut three 2-by-36-inch pieces of tulle.
- 4). Loosen the tension and lengthen the stitch length on your sewing machine. Sew down the center of each piece of tulle lengthwise.
- 5). Push the tulle up the length of the thread of each seam to gather it into a puff. Tie the ends of the thread together on each tulle puff to hold the gathers. Trim the thread.
- 6). Attach a button to the center of each tulle puff with a dot of hot glue to turn them into tulle flowers.
- 7). Attach the tulle flowers in a line to the elastic headband with hot glue.
