- 1). Restart your computer by clicking "Start" and then "Shut Down." Click the green "Restart" button from the drop-down menu.
- 2). Press and hold down the "F8" key continuously while your computer restarts. This will boot the computer in safe mode so that you can access the system restore wizard. If your computer boots to Windows ME, repeat Steps 1 and 2.
- 3). Highlight the "Safe Mode with a Command Prompt" option by using the down arrow key. Once you've highlighted it, press "Enter."
- 4). Type in the administrator password for the computer and then press "Enter." If you don't have an administrator password, press "Enter."
- 5). Type the command prompt "%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" to access the system restore wizard and then press "Enter."
