- Hot stamping is commonly used to produce greeting cards, book covers, business cards and any number of other commercial publications.
- Inkjet printers use ink (either black or colored) and paper of any color to produce documents. Hot stamping can employ a wide array of foils (including holographic, opaque, etc.) and can be applied to not only paper but also leather, wood and many other surfaces.
- Hot stamp presses cost significantly more than inkjet printers. An inexpensive inkjet printer can be purchased for as little as $30 while a hot stamp presses generally start at $1,000 or more.
