- 1). Shut down the computer and unplug the power supply. Open the laptop and push the screen side back as far as it will go.
- 2). Locate the small keyboard retainer notch on the left side just above the keyboard. Use one hand to gently lift this notch while gently pushing down with your other hand on the right side just above the keyboard.
- 3). Slide the keyboard retainer toward the left as it begins to lift up to remove it from around the keyboard keys. As you move it left, lift up carefully.
- 4). Use your fingers to lift the keyboard near the top just below the screen. While keeping the top part of the keyboard lifted slightly, gently lift the keyboard toward the screen. It will lift upward away from the trackpad. About halfway through this movement, the keyboard will clear the holding clips and can be lifted away from the laptop.
- 5). Place the keyboard against the screen. Do not pull it away from the laptop as it is connected by a cable to the rest of the laptop.
