- 1). Find a picture of the car you wish to draw by browse the internet or automobile magazines. Use this as reference material to guide you as you develop your drawing.
- 2). Draw an outline. Concentrate on drawing the outer shell of your chosen car. Work around the car, drawing the shape of the roof, hood, wheel wells and sides of the car. At this point your design will look a little vague and should resemble little more than a silhouette; the details will come at a later stage.
- 3). Draw a straight line to mark the bottom of the windshield. Draw another line parallel to this one to mark the top of the windshield. Join these lines together to form your complete windshield. Apply the same technique to draw the side and rear windows. Use a ruler to keep the line straight.
- 4). Draw the wheels by drawing circle shapes inside the arches of the wheel wells. Once you have drawn the outer portion of the wheel, draw a smaller circle inside the existing one to create the wheel rims.
- 5). Draw the doors using simple square shapes, and add the detail of the door handle. Develop the front of the car, using a rectangle shape for the bumper and license plate, and smaller curved rectangles for the headlights. To add further detail, draw a simple grill above the bumper between the headlights.
