- 1). Establish your theme. For a remembrance collage, the goal is to convey your feelings and give tribute to the person or people being remembered.
- 2). Obtain photographs. Choose as many relevant pictures as you wish, keeping in mind the space limit. Select ones central to your theme. In this case, the person being remembered.
- 3). Set up your canvas. You can use cardboard or construction paper, for example. This is the background for your collage. It can be any size, depending on how much you want to put into the piece.
- 4). Cut some letters out from a magazine or newspaper. You can use these letters to convey small memorial words or phrases, such as "Miss You," "Always Remembered" or "Memories." Create phrases that convey how you feel.
- 5). Write a homage message. With your marker, create a dedicated small poem, quote or paragraph on a piece of construction paper or blank paper.
- 6). Gather miscellaneous materials. There is no limit to how your collage can look. You can attach things such as fabrics or trinkets that remind you of the person.
- 7). Arrange the collage. Set up the collage without gluing it. This will allow you to mix and match until you achieve the desired appearance.
- 8). Glue the items to the canvas. Using a glue stick or paper glue, apply the adhesive to the back of your pictures, letters and miscellaneous items. Use stronger glue, such as rubber cement, for any heavy objects. Attach them according to your previously established pattern.
- 9). Leave the collage on a flat surface, such as a table, and allow it to dry. Once it is ready, display your completed collage anywhere you like.
