- 1). Coat the glass with soapy water. Mix 1/2 cup dishwashing soap in 1 gallon of warm water. Spread the soapy water on the glass with a soft cloth. This will create a slick surface and prevent scratches.
- 2). Score paint with a utility knife. If the paint is on a window or mirror, run the utility knife around the edge of the window (or mirror) frame. This separates the paint on the frame from the paint on the glass, so you don't inadvertently remove wanted paint.
- 3). Scrape a new razor blade slowly underneath the paint, gently lifting the paint from the glass. Hold the razor blade at a sideways angle so you don't gouge into the glass, scratching it. Begin in an inconspicuous place to practice. Stop if you hear a grinding sound. Inspect your blade to make sure it's not worn or damaged.
- 4). Remove the soap and water solution with a wet cloth. Spray the glass with window cleaner and wipe clean with a paper towel.
