- 1). Double-click the iTunes icon on your PC's desktop, or select "Start" in the lower-left corner of the screen and click "Programs" and "iTunes." On Macintosh computers, click the "iTunes" icon on the screen's dock.
- 2). Plug the dock connector end of the iPod cable into the bottom of your iPod, and insert the metal end of the cable into your computer's USB port.
- 3). Select the iPod tab in the iTunes source list, and click "File" at the top of the iTunes menu.
- 4). Select "Sync iPod" from the File submenu to synchronize your iPod to iTunes. By default, the iPod will automatically sync with iTunes.
- 5). Click "File," and select "Transfer Purchases from iPod" from the submenu.
- 6). Click "Controls" at the top of the iTunes menu and select "Eject iPod" from the submenu to disconnect the iPod.
