- 1). Move closer to the USB Bluetooth adapter in the computer if the headset doesn’t respond to button presses. Make sure that the PC is active and not in a standby state. The USB jacks on the computer aren’t powered when the computer is hibernating or off.
- 2). Turn the volume up on the headset if you can’t hear callers or a dial tone. Un-mute the headset’s microphone is callers can’t hear you. Press the mute button repeatedly to toggle between mute settings. Align the headset microphone boom with your mouth if callers can’t hear you. The boom should be in line with the mouth.
- 3). Lower the volume on the VOIP software if the headset sound is distorted. Echoes that you hear on the Plantronics Voyager 510 indicate a problem with your correspondent’s audio setup. If your correspondent hears echoes—it’s a problem with your audio setup, adjust the volume.
- 4). Go to the "Sounds and Audio Devices" setup area in Windows to make the Plantronics Voyager 510 the default speaker if you can’t hear your correspondent. In the same Windows setup area, change the default microphone to the Plantronics headset if your correspondent can’t hear you. From the “Start” button choose the Control Panel and then "Sounds and Audio" and make changes there. Don’t forget to return the settings to their original ones after your call—particularly if you listen to music on your computer.
