42 Inch Panasonic Plasma TV Troubleshooting

    • 1). Look for the red light along the bottom edge of the front panel to ensure that the television is on. If not, press the "Power" button on the remote control or the left side of the television to turn the television on.

    • 2). Check to make sure the television power cable connects to wall outlet. Check your fuse box or circuit breaker and try plugging an alternate device into the outlet to make sure the outlet is powered.

    • 3). Press the "Input" button on the remote, scroll down and select your desired input from the list. Select "TV" for the normal RCA connection, select "HDMI 1-3" for a device connected to the television through one of the three HDMI ports, select "Component 1-2" for a device connected to the television through one of the two component inputs, select "Video 1-2" for a device connected to the television through one of the two composite inputs or select "PC" for a device connected to the DVI input. Press "OK" on the remote to select the desired input.

    • 4). Verify that the connected device, such as your DVR, DVD player, Blu-ray player, game system or computer, is on and connected properly to the correct input on the back or left side of the television.

    • 5). Disable any nearby electrical components that can cause interference such as fluorescent lights or radios

    • 6). Turn the remote over and press the tab on the battery compartment cover to remove it, if the television does not respond to the remote control. Remove the batteries and insert new batteries into the compartment, following the diagram printed beneath the batteries on the inside of the remote.

    • 7). Verify that an Ethernet cable connects to the "Ethernet" port on the back of the television if trying to access the Panasonic Viera Cast mode. Make sure the other end of the cable connects to your cable modem or router.
