- 1). Test the cleaning products to determine if they are going to leave a stain. This is vital since some products may ruin the material of the furniture even if it does not get wet.
- 2). Vacuum the furniture. This necessary step removes all of the loose dirt, any pet hair and food crumbs that are on the furniture so the only thing that you need to remove is the dirt embedded in the furniture.
- 3). Rub dry-cleaning cloths over the furniture. Repeat with another sheet until the sheet removes very little dirt.
- 4). Spray on foaming upholstery cleaner. This can be the type of product that is also available for the seats and fabric in your vehicle. This is ideal for dry-clean only furniture because it does not get the material wet and still cleans efficiently.
- 5). Allow the foam to sit for a few minutes according to packaging instructions. This ensures you can remove any remaining dirt after using the dry-cleaning cloths.
- 6). Wipe off excess foam after the foam sits for the suggested amount of time on the packaged instructions.
- 7). Vacuum the remaining residue off the furniture.
