- You can create a slide show in Windows 7 using the photos on your computer by opening your screen saver settings. In the screen saver list, choose photos and go into settings. In settings, choose browse and select the photo folder you want for the screen saver slide show. You can create and organize a photo folder with pictures from your photo library in the order you want them to appear. The screen saver will start with the first photo in the folder and show each one in order. You can change the order the slides appear by changing the position of the pictures in the folder. If you prefer, the slide show can be set to show the pictures in random order as well. You can also control how long each image is displayed.
For a fee, you can download screen saver slide show software that offers more flexibility in programming your preferences. It allows you the ability to load multiple image folders from your computer to appear in the slide show consecutively. You will also have the option of showing pictures from the Internet.
Mac users can create a screen saver slide show simply by finding System Preferences, then clicking on Desktop and Screen Saver and finally Screen Saver. In the screen saver section you will see a preview screen on the right side and an option list column on the left that includes artwork from your music library and photo folders on your Mac. Choose the option you want, watch it in the preview screen, and you are done. You can also see it in full screen by clicking TEST under the preview screen.
