- 1). Download and install Uncook95.
- 2). Launch Uncook95 and change the Mode setting to "Generate New Files." Choosing "Generate New Files" tells Uncook95 not to overwrite your original file. Instead, Uncook95 will create a new uncooked version of your file and add "Copy of" to the prefix of the file name. Accidentally running Uncook95 on an uncorrupted file can damage it. Running the program in "Generate New Files" mode prevents this.
- 3). Click "Open" from the "File" menu. Browse to the directory containing your cooked MP3 file in the dialog box that appears. Select the file name and click "Open." Uncook95 will display the open file and file path in the Filenames dialog.
- 4). Repeat Step 3 to add any additional files you would like to fix.
- 5). Click "Uncook!" When Uncook95 finishes repairing your file, a dialog box appears reading "File Is Uncooked." Click "OK."
- 6). Browse to the directory containing the original damaged file and locate "Copy of [your original filename]". Double-click on the new file to launch it in your music player of choice and listen to it without that annoying "bubbly" sound.
