- The Canon Pixma MP620 is approximately 17.8 inches wide by 14.5 inches deep by 7.0 inches high and weighs approximately 19.0 lbs. On top of the printer is a control panel with 16 user control buttons and a display screen with a size of 2.5 inches, as measured along the screen's diagonal. This screen relies on an active-matrix variety of liquid-crystal display (LCD) technology known as TFT, or thin film technology. When its scanning lamp is active, the Pixma MP620 has a power consumption rate of approximately 17 watts. In comparison, when its scanning lamp is off, the printer has a standby power consumption rate of 3.2 watts. The Pixma MP620 still draws 0.7 watts of power when it is turned off completely.
- As an inkjet 3-in-1 printer, the Canon Pixma MP620 creates images by spraying dots of ink on to paper with small jet nozzles. Using this technology, the Pixma MP620 can print at an approximate speed of 7.3 images per minute (ipm) when printing in black and white, and at an approximate speed of 5.5 ipm when printing in color. In terms of pages per minute, or ppm, the Pixma MP620 can provide 26 ppm in black and white; and 17 ppm in color. When producing photo lab-quality prints, the printer can put out a single, borderless, 10 cm by 15 cm image in approximately 41 seconds. The Pixma MP620 is capable of a maximum print resolution of 9,600 x 2,500 dots per inch (dpi). It used five single ink tanks, two black and one each of cyan, yellow and magenta.
- The Canon Pixma MP620 can copy documents at rates of 24 ppm in black and white and 16 ppm in color. The 3-in-1 printer can put out a single color document in approximately 31 seconds. For making multiple copies, the Pixma MP620 can accommodate up to 99 copies in a single copying session, while for magnifying copies, the printer provides a zoom of between 25 and 400 percent with incremental increases of 1 percent.
- A flatbed CIS color scanner handles the scanning functions for the Canon Pixma MP620. The scanner can provide an optical scanner resolution of 2,400 x 4,800 dpi and a digital, interpolated scanner resolution of 19,200 x 19,200 dpi. "Interpolated" refers to the practice of the scanner adding in extra pixels, or dots, for enhancing the perceived resolution of an image. The Pixma MP620's scanner has a grayscale of 16 over 8 bits and a color scanning depth of 48 over 24 bits.
