How to Clean Rubber Out of Carpet

    • 1). Test mineral oil in an inconspicuous area of your carpet. Leave it on for 24 hours and look for any fading or change in color before proceeding.

    • 2). Douse a white rag cloth with mineral oil and use it to break up the rubber.

    • 3). Use the scrub brush to loosen the rubber pieces and brush them away. Work until there are no solid pieces of rubber left on the carpet--just a dark stain.

    • 4). Test the turpentine on a small, inconspicuous test patch. Leave it for 24 hours and assess.

    • 5). Dab turpentine on the stain with the white cloth. Press down on the cloth to soak up the black stain.

    • 6). When the stain has been removed, soak a clean cloth in water and apply it to the carpet to clean the area.
