- 1). Click on your "Start" button at the bottom of your desktop screen and choose "Control Panel."
- 2). Open the "Folder Options" folder in the Control Panel. Click on the "Appearance" tab. Some operating systems may not have this option. In Windows Vista you will see a "Personalization" option instead of "Folder Options."
- 3). Choose a blue color font for you file folder. Click "Apply" at the bottom of the window.
- 1). Click on the folder you wish to change, then right click and select "Properties" or "Personalization" from the menu, depending on your operating system.
- 2). Choose the "Customize" tab. Click the "Choose Picture" button under Folder Pictures. This will bring up a Browse window. You can also choose "Change Icon" under Folder Icons and select a new icon from the computer's operating system choices.
- 3). Click on the dropdown menu at the top of the window to find the location of the image you would prefer to use in place of the folder icon. Highlight the image you wish to use and click on "Open" at the bottom of the Browser screen.
- 4). Click on the "Apply" button at the bottom of the Properties window or click on "Restore Default" if you don't like the image and wish to use another one.

Select the folder you wish to change. - 2). Choose "File" from your desktop menu options and scroll down to Color at the bottom of the dropdown menu.
- 3). Select the color you wish to use under "Color Label." This will automatically change the color of the selected folder's label background, not the font.
- 1). Right click on your desktop and choose "Properties" from the drop down menu. Select "Appearance" then select "Advanced" near the bottom of the window.
- 2). Click on "Color Overrides" in the popup window and select "Window Text." Click on "Set Color" and choose blue.
- 3). Click "Ok" then click the "Close" button in the next window, then click "OK" in the following window.
