- 1). Click "Start" and then click "Run." Type "Regedit" in the open box and click "OK."
- 2). Locate and click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents" in the navigation pane on the left side of the Registry Editor.
- 3). Right-click "OOBETimer" on the right side and click "Modify." Change at least one digit of the value to deactivate Windows. Click the "X" in the top right corner to close the Windows Registry window.
