Spray the aluminum siding with a garden hose. Spray from the top of the mold- and mildew-stained siding and work your way down to moisten the stains and prevent the spores from becoming airborne and spreading elsewhere. - 2). Cover nearby plants and bushes with plastic drop cloths to protect them from damage caused by the mildew and mold removing mixture.
- 3). Put on rubber gloves and a face mask to prevent contact with the chemical mixture.

Mix 1 cup of trisodium phosphate (TSP) with 2 gallons of warm water in a large bucket. Position a ladder near the side of the house to enable you to reach mold and mildew stains high up on the aluminum siding. Use the ladder and a utility broom, if needed, to reach high places. - 5). Soak the broom bristles in the TSP mixture and allow the excess to drip back into the bucket. Scrub the mildew stained areas to kill the mildew and remove the stains. Work from the top of the siding downward and rinse the broom bristles off as needed. Once you reach a lower area of the siding, change to a scrub brush dipped in the TSP mixture to clean the rest of the siding.
- 6). Rinse the siding off thoroughly with the garden hose. Spray toward the top of the siding, working your way down, so the stains will drip down toward the ground. Allow the siding and surrounding areas to air dry completely before removing the plastic drop cloths from plants and bushes.
