- 1). Connect your Sony Walkman MP3 player to the computer using the USB cable that came with your media player. Click the Windows "Start" button and click "Windows Media Player" to launch the media player.
- 2). Click the arrow below the "Sync" tab in the media player and click "Format." WMP then formats your media player. When the process completes, the files on your player are erased.
- 3). Click the "Library" tab to see the songs uploaded to the WMP library. To upload new songs to your reformatted Sony Walkman, click the "Sync" tab. You should see the "Sync List" in the far right pane. Drag songs from the WMP library to the sync list. When you finish adding songs, drag them up and down in the sync list to set the playback order. Click "Start Sync." WMP then uploads the songs to your Walkman.
