- 1). Disconnect the power to all equipment before hooking up cables.
- 2). Secure the coaxial cable from the basic TV cable programming source to the COAX IN or RF IN jack on the DTV converter box. The coupler on the end of the cable attaches by being turned clockwise to the threaded RF IN jack that extends from the back of the converter box by approximately 1/2 inch.
- 3). Insert the plugs on one end of a set of RCA composite cables into the AV OUT jacks on the converter box. The yellow plug connects to the video jack, and the white and red plugs connect to the left and right audio jacks.
- 4). Connect the plugs on the other end of the cable to the AV IN jacks on the back of the TV, using the same color-coded connections to match plugs to jacks. Most TVs are equipped with at least three sets of AV jacks, so make a note of which set of inputs are used to connect the DTV converter box.
- 5). Plug in and turn on the equipment, then press the "Scan" button on the DTV converter to program channels for transmission to the TV.
