- 1). Dip a cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol and dab off the excess on a paper towel. Clean the watch face and outer casing with the swab to dissolve any dirt or oil which may be trapped in the scratch. Allow the alcohol to evaporate completely.
- 2). Apply several drops of baby oil to the tip of a fresh cotton swab. Coat the watch face with an even layer of oil and allow it to sit for five to 10 minutes.
- 3). Buff the watch face rapidly with a polishing cloth. Use a fast, circular motion for best results.
- 4). Turn the watch over and spread a thin layer of metal polishing compound on the back casing of the watch.
- 5). Buff the casing rapidly using a fresh polishing cloth. Re-apply compound and buff until visible scratches disappear or until you achieve the desired shine.
- 6). Wipe the entire watch clean with a damp cloth. Dry with a clean microfiber cloth.
