- 1). Allow the correction fluid stain to dry completely. Attempting to remove it while wet will only make the stain larger and more difficult to deal with.
- 2). After it has dried, scrape as much of the correction fluid off the garment or carpeting as possible.
- 3). Apply a pretreating fluid or laundry detergent to the stained material and allow it to set. Wash as you normally would.
- 4). Use a chlorine or oxygen bleach to treat more stubborn correction fluid stains. Read the garment's label for care instructions.
- 5). Take dry clean only garments to a professional. Household laundry detergents, pretreaters and chemicals may damage the fabric.
- 6). Remove correction fluid from carpeting by applying a small amount of rubbing alcohol to the stain. Use a cloth to loosen the fluid. Rinse completely with water.
