- 1). Place the log splitter in a flat, open area outside such as the center of a maintained lawn. Lock the wheels in place.
- 2). Put on the protective eyewear and gloves.
- 3). Gather the wood to be cut and transport it to the site of the splitter. Place the wood within a few feet of the splitter wedge for easy access.
- 4). Pull on the gasoline motor's start cord until the engine fires.
- 5). Insert one piece of wood standing upright onto the splitting rail. Ensure the wood is stable by placing the heavy side towards the center of the splitter. Adjust the wood to be directly below the center of the splitting wedge.
- 6). Activate the hydraulic wedge using either the pull down lever or push button. Allow the wedge to burrow into the wood and wait until the wedge has completely split the wood. Gather the split wood.
