- 1). Scoop up as much of the shampoo as you can, using a large spoon. Dump each spoonful into a bowl. When you can't get any more up this way, dump the contents of the bowl down the drain and rinse it out.
- 2). Fill the bowl with clean water. Get another bowl and bring both back to the area of carpeting that suffered the spill.
- 3). Dampen a clean sponge in the water. Blot the sponge gently on the carpet to soak up some of the shampoo. Squeeze the sponge into the empty bowl. Repeat this step until it seems you've gotten most of the shampoo up.
- 4). Press dry paper towels to the carpet to soak up the liquid. When one bunch of paper towels is saturated, set it aside and use more. Do this until you can no longer get up any liquid with the paper towels. Allow the carpet to air dry the rest of the way.
