- 1). Fill a bucket with 1 quart of hot water. Add 1/4 cup of ammonia to the hot water.
- 2). Wet a clean cloth with the ammonia solution. Wring out the excess moisture.
- 3). Place the ammonia-dampened cloth directly over the grime on your stove top. Allow the cloth to remain on the surface for 15 minutes to soften the stain matter.
- 4). Remove the cloth from the surface of your stove top. Gently scrub the grimy stain with a nylon mesh sponge to remove as much as possible.
- 5). Scrape stuck- or burned-on grime with a razor-edged scraper. Sprinkle baking soda onto the sponge to remove any last traces of grime.
- 6). Clean the surface of your cooktop by wiping it off with the diluted ammonia solution. Dry the surface with another cloth.
