- 1). Wipe off fresh or damp food splatters with a damp kitchen towel. To remove any food that is dried, vacuum the surface of the pine log walls at the site of the food splatter. Use the upholstery attachment to vacuum the log walls.
- 2). Mix 1 cup bleach in a bucket filled with 1 1/2 quarts warm water. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from the skin-drying effects of bleach.
- 3). Dip a sponge in the diluted bleach solution. Scrub the remaining food splatter stains with the bleach mixture. As the stain is lifted, rinse the sponge with water before applying more bleach solution and continuing to scrub.
- 4). Fill the bucket with warm water. Wet a clean sponge, and rinse the pine logs to remove the bleach mixture. Allow the logs to air-dry overnight.
- 5). Tackle any remaining food splatter stains by wearing them away with 100-grit sandpaper. Sand with the grain of the wood to remove the last traces of stains. Wipe the pine with a damp cloth to remove dust from sanding.
