Inspired by the fairytale, this movie was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and stars Amanda Seyfried. Valerie (Seyfried) has grown up in an isolated medieval village and likes a poor, but handsome woodcutter (Shiloh Fernandez). But her parents (Virginia Madsen and Billy Burke) want her to marry a rich, but handsome blacksmith (Max Irons).


Meanwhile, Valerie likes to wear a red cape her hip grandma (Julie Christie) made for her. However, there's a werewolf loose in the area, and a priest (Gary Oldman) is brought in. The film's mystery is the identity of the werewolf, but all is eventually resolved.
