- 1). Measure a cup of vinegar and pour it into a bowl. Measure a cup of water and add it to the bowl. Stir the mixture until it is well blended.
- 2). Dip a sponge into the vinegar and water mixture and use the sponge to clean the perimeter of the walls. Use the sponge to scrub away any accumulated dirt.
- 3). Use the sponge and the vinegar mixture in the bathroom to clean the sink, toilet bowl and shower. Vinegar is a good alternative to harsh cleaners for all these surfaces.
- 4). Clean the exterior of your fish tank with a mixture of vinegar and water. Wipe the exterior of the glass with the sponge, then thoroughly dry the surface with a paper towel. Commercial window cleaners should never be used on aquariums because the chemicals can seep through the glass and harm the fish.
- 5). Clean the grime and cut the dust on top of the refrigerator with a full strength solution of vinegar. Dip a paper towel in vinegar at full strength, then wipe the top surface of the refrigerator.
- 6). Pour a cup of vinegar in your dishwasher each month to avoid the buildup of detergent residue. Pour the vinegar into the dishwasher and run a regular wash cycle.
