- 1). Turn off the steam mop and unplug it from the power source.
- 2). Locate the filter on the steam mop, which may be on the side of the handle or in the base of the unit. The water filter is located underneath the water tank or in the water nozzle on some models.
- 3). Lift out the water filter.
- 4). Wipe away excess dirt or debris from the filter with a clean, damp cloth.
- 5). Gently scrub the filter with a few drops of dishwashing liquid and warm water if excessively dirty. Rinse well. Pat the filter dry with a clean cloth. Do not rub or squeeze the filter.
- 6). Return the filter to the steam mop.
