- 1). Enter the community lot Build and Buy mode from the main neighborhood menu and select the community lot to which you wish to add new objects.
- 2). Press and hold the "Shift," "Ctrl" and "C" buttons on your keyboard simultaneously to bring up the cheat command console.
- 3). Type in the cheat "changelotzoning residential" and press "Enter" to change the lot zoning to a residential lot and have access to residential lot items. This cheat works for "The Sims 2: Apartment Life," "The Sims 2: Bon Voyage" and "The Sims 2: University" expansion packs
- 4). Type in the cheat "changelotzoning apartmentbase" and press "Enter" to rezone the lot as an apartment and have access to apartment-only items. This cheat works only for the "The Sims 2: Apartment Life" expansion pack.
- 5). Type in the cheat "changelotzoning hotel" and press "Enter" to rezone the lot as a hotel and have access to hotel-only items. This cheat works only for the "The Sims 2: Bon Voyage" expansion pack.
- 6). Type in the cheat "changelotzoning dorm" and press "Enter" to rezone the lot as a dormitory and have access to dorm-only items. This cheat works only for "The Sims 2: University." Type the cheats "changelotzoning greek" and "changelotzoning secretsociety" in this expansion pack to change the lot to a Greek house or secret society room and have access to the corresponding items.
- 7). Purchase the items you wish to add to the community lot and arrange them on the lot using the Build and Buy tools.
- 8). Type "changelotzoning community" to return the lot to its original status after you are finished adding items from other lot types.
